Oscar Piastri launched a furious tirade against Williams driver Carlos Sainz and his own McLaren team after a dramatic on-track collision during the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest.

The Australian driver started third on the grid and brilliantly seized the lead by the end of the opening lap, only for his race to unravel following the controversial incident.

Sainz, who was shown blue flags, failed to clear the path in time and tagged the McLaren, prompting an immediate and explosive outburst from Piastri over the team radio.

"Get out of the way you idiot!" Piastri raged on the radio before later telling his own pit wall that it was better they did not speak to him during the heat of the race.

The 25-year-old driver also directed his frustration toward his team's strategy, suggesting they left him vulnerable as traffic converged during crucial pit-stop phases.

Although Piastri ultimately suffered a DNF due to a subsequent gearbox issue, the fallout from the clash dominated post-race discussions across the Formula One paddock.

Expanding on the incident during his post-race media obligations, Piastri did not hold back in his assessment of the Williams driver's track awareness.

"He's quite critical of others, and others have given him stick before for being frustrating on track," Piastri stated when reviewing the collision.
